How much time before a new war in Epicenter?

I just received this article from Joel Rosenberg and thought it was interesting!

HOW MUCH TIME BEFORE A NEW WAR IN THE EPICENTER?

Plus: 15,000 Christians fleeing from Mosul, Iraq; and the Taliban murders a Christian aid worker in Kabul

By Joel C. Rosenberg (Washington, D.C., October 21, 2008) -- How much time do we have before war between Iran and Israel breaks out? Could it happen between the U.S. elections on November 4th and the inauguration on January 20th? A number of top U.S. and Israeli officials and analysts fear the answer could be yes.

Last month, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad again vowed to wipe Israel and "these germs of corruption off the face of the Earth." Israeli officials believe time is running out before Iran gets the Bomb. What's more, they know full well that President Bush - widely considered the most pro-Israel commander-in-chief in U.S. history - is leaving office very soon. One question, then, is whether Israel might launch a pre-emptive war against Iran's nuclear weapons program before a new American President steps in.

Sen. Joe Biden, the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee, this week actually guaranteed a major international crisis would erupt within the next six months if running mate Barack Obama is elected. "Mark my words - it will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy," Biden told supporters in Seattle on Sunday. "The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America….Watch. We're going to have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

Is Ahmadinejad and his regime preparing to launch such a crisis? They are certainly ratcheting up their anti-Semitic and anti-Israeli rhetoric. "The Zionists are crooks," Ahmadinejad said recently. "A small handful of Zionists, with a very intricate organization, have taken over the power centers of the world….Jewishness is a great lie. They have no religion whatsoever. They are a handful of lying, power-greedy people who have no religion, who only want to take over all the peoples and countries, and to trample the rights of the peoples….I've heard that one of them [Prime Minister Ehud Olmert] recently said that the idea of Greater Israel is dead. I would like to declare that the idea of 'smaller Israel' is also dead. The very notion of Israel is dead, but they are lagging behind the times. Just as the idea of Greater Israel died 30 years ago, and they did not realize this, and have continued to perpetrate crimes for 30 years…Today, I say to them: The idea of smaller Israel is dead." Ahmadinejad added that if the Jews do not end their support for Israel and Zionism, "the strong arm of the [Muslim] peoples will wipe these germs of corruption off the face of the Earth."

In other news from the epicenter, "Libya may agree to buy more than $2 billion worth of Russian weapons during a visit by Muammar Gaddafi to Moscow this month, Interfax news agency reported on Monday." The Israeli media immediately picked up on the reports. Given Libya's historic enmiity towards Israel, there is a very real concern that should Libya receive billions of dollars of advanced new weaponry from Moscow, those arms could eventually be turned against the Jewish State. There are also prophetic implications. The "War of Gog and Magog" described in Ezekiel 38-39 involves a military alliance between Russia, Iran, Libya and a group of other Middle Eastern countries that surround and seek to destroy Israel in "the last days" after Israel has been reborn as a country and Jews have returned en masse to the Holy Land. A development worth watching closely.

    Yahoo, I got a job!

Thank you for your prayers!!  It has been over a year that I have been employed, but praise be to God, I start a job on Thursday.  I must say that God has been faithful through these times and has never let me down.  I am having to move and leave my church that I have been at for many years.  Just wanted to share what I shared with them if you don't mind.

Last night as Pastor Frank was teaching I could not help but thank God for a church that teaches the Word of God without compromise.  I know that attending CCTV has been a building block in my relationship with Christ.  I can only pray that I will find another home that I can grow and serve our Lord Jesus.  Thank you for all of your prayers and support through the tough times that I have gone through over the last year or so.  There are many times that a brother would come up to me and let me know that he was praying for me and I know that it was the prayers of my friends in Christ that God has helped me through the days that I thought I could not make it through.  Last night I was reminded through the teaching of Jeremiah 29:11.  "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.  And you will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."

As I was reading this morning, A Pillar By Day, I could not help but share it with you.  It spoke to the very core of my heart after hearing such nice things from Pastor Gary and Pastor Frank.  The scripture is Numbers 27:22-23 which reads:
"And Moses did as the Lord commanded him and he took Joshua, and set him before Eleazar the priest, and before all the congregation: and he laid his hands upon him, and gave him charge as the Lord commanded by the hand of Moses."  John Courson's comments are as follows:
"Called a minister, or servant, of Moses (Joshua 1:1), Joshua played second fiddle to Moses.  For forty years, he simply served as number two, faithful in whatever he was to do.  Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful, Paul declared (1 Cor 4:2).  Many men want to be men of faith.  But rarer, and perhaps more important, is to be a faithful man.  Joshua was just that,  And in due season, after forty years of faithfulness, God tapped him on the shoulder.
God does that with us too.  It might take forty years, but if we faithfully plug away at what God has called us to do-big or small, noticed or unnoticed-He will tap us on the shoulder one day and say, "You've served faithfully.  Now is the time for greater ministry."

I take this as a word for me but more important as a word for our body at CCTV.  Church, stay faithful in the things that God has called you to do.  Never grow weary while doing good, for in due season you shall reap if you do not lose heart. Gal 6:9
Last night Pastor Gary stated that when the church plans an outreach, the week before things seem to go wrong.  We have always seen the fruit that God has brought forth no matter what the obstacles were.  The eternal rewards are always greater than what the enemy throws our way.  That is why I am so grateful that God has allowed me to be at CCTV, I have learned many things that have drawn me closer to Jesus.

My encouragement for all of you is to:
Continue to stay strong in the Lord and never compromise the Word of God
Continue praying and see God work
Never grow weary in doing good for you will always reap what you sow
Always be aware of what God is doing around you and let the Holy Spirit lead
Love one another unconditionally and reach out to those that are weak
Keep reaching out to the lost and share the Good News, for the harvest is ripe but the laborers are few
Remember God's promises (Jer 29:11 for one) and stand on His Word no matter what comes your way

Again thank you for your prayers and support.  Please continue to pray for me to assure God's will in my life.

    Your brother in Christ,

    HELLO TO ALL MY FRIENDS!

It's been a while since I have had the time to sit down and write.  The fishing was terrible but it was time well spent with the kids.  Since my last blog I have been blessed with a granddaughter.  She will be out here in California the first week of October with her mom for a visit.  Can't wait to see her!!

My time has been consumed with looking for a job.  Daily sending out resumes with no responses.  This can get very discouraging at times and the feelings of giving up are overwhelming.  I will be going out to Orange County CA this week to seek employment out there.  I know that God has a plan and relying on his strength to get me through each day has been my only sanity.  I was reminded last night of Nehimiah.  His prayer life was an example for us.  He prayed when he was discouraged, needed direction or assistance, when he was weak and helpless or under attack.  But God enabled him to complete the task of rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem in spite of all the opposition.  Nehemiah 6:15-16 states that the walls were completed in 52 days.  That is a miracle in itself.  It was a testimony to all, that God was the one that did the work.  Whatever God has in store for my life will be from Him.  He will get all the glory!!  My part is to continue praying, no matter what the circumstances and to do everything I can to find a job.  My finances have dwindled to nothing, credit cards maxed out and I live by faith day to day.  I can only say, thank you Lord!  I know I am in your hands and You will and have never let me down.  Show me your ways, draw me closer to You and help me to hear your voice.  Give me wisdom, direction and discernment in the decisions I make and lead into the way you would have me go.

Continue to keep me in your prayers.  They are greatly appreciated and coveted.

    In Christ,

    Quiet Time

I just added a song list to my site for your enjoyment.  I find that turing on some worship music and just sitting before the Lord is so refreshing.  So just an encouragement to take 1/2 hour, close the door behind you and wait upon the Lord.  Even if you don't have a relationship with God, I encourage you to do the same.  He is a rewarder to those that diligently seek Him.  Take the bible with you during this time and read through a Psalm or elsewhere in the word.

I promise you!!  God will meet you right where you are at and speak to you through the songs and the word.  He is just waiting on us to take the time.

    The war within my soul

We go through things in our lives so that we can help others that are going through the same thing.  As I share this with you I also realize that it is also releasing me from my own struggles within.  As I wrote about in my last blog, my 10 year old is here visiting with me.  What I didn't tell you is that my ex wife is also out in California visiting.  I picked her up last night to come and visit with the family.  My mood has become depressed, my anger has resurfaced and my bitterness has reared it's ugly head back into my life.  I thought I had dealt with all these issues since our divorce 6 years ago.  The details of our break-up are not real important but it brought into my life a lot of pain and feelings that I never knew I had to deal with again.
Driving down to pick her up I could feel my self tense up and memories of the past flooded my mind.  I couldn't even look at her when I saw her and went to bed early just so that I would not need to deal with it.  This morning I decided to face reality and began praying and seeking the Lord.  I know that in my own strength I can not handle this.  As a christian I can not just ignore that this is a stumbling block in my life and I have decided to face it head on with the Lord's help.  I started reading the book of James in the Bible.  I came to this verse and thank you Lord for speaking to me through your Word.

Who is wise and understanding among you?  Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom.  But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.  This wisdom does not come from above but is earthly, sensual and demonic.  For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.  But the wisdon that is from above is first pure, then peacable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.  Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.  James 3:13-18

As I write this, I know that the Lord is speaking to my heart.  Realizing that I want God's will in this situation and I cry out to Him for His true wisdom and the ability to love as Jesus loves me.  "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."  Romans 5:8

"Not that I have allready attained or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me.  Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended, but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.  Phill 3:12-14

Please pray that God would put in my heart the love of Jesus towards my ex and give me the strength to conquer this weakness in my life.  Thank you Lord that I do not need to stay the same.  Make me more like you LORD.

A Father's Love for his children

Last night my 10 year old (Joy) came into my room with tears running down her cheeks.  I asked her a couple of times "What's wrong?" but she just stood in silence not saying a word.  Just to let you know, she lives in Ohio with her mom and is out here visiting with me.  I speak to her quite a bit on the phone during the year but I don't get to see her face to face but once a year.  Finally after several attempts to find out what was wrong, I just took her in my arms and laid her down besides me in a huge bean bag chair in the room.  A few minutes later we were laughing and talking together again.

When I woke up this morning I was thinking about how my Father in heaven loves me.  Children exhibit sincerity, eagerness, a trusting attitude and total dependence on their parents.  When we go to our heavenly Father, we must go to him with child like faith.  He loves us unconditionally, right where we are at and knows our every need before we even ask.  There are many times in my life that I hesitate going to God, yet He is just waiting for me with loving open arms.

Why do I hesitate to have fellowship with God when He is allways there waiting for me?  Here is a list of a few reasons why. Unrepentant sin, anger, pain, pride (a feeling that I can do things on my own), hurt, a broken heart, a contrite spirit, unforgiveness, depression, etc...  But I know God loves me, He promises to take care of all my needs, He has given me eternal life through His Son Jesus Christ, I have His Word (The Bible) and I know I can go to Him at any time.  This is where my child like faith comes in.  I can not go to God on my own merits or works.
"Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.  And not only that, but we also glory in tribulations, knowing that tribulation produces perseverance and perseverance, character and character hope.  Now hope does not disappoint because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.  Rom 5:1-5

It is because of Jesus Christ being the ultimate sacrifice on the cross for my sins that I can have fellowship with God.  It has nothing to do with my own works or feelings.  My dependence on God is fully reliant upon the finished work on the cross.  I can enter the Holy of Holies by the blood of Jesus because He is our High Priest (Heb 10:19-23)

So John, what are you really trying to say?  As my daughter came into my room, tears in her eyes and speachless; she knows that I love her unconditionally and that she doesn't even need to say a word.  God is allways waiting for us with open arms.
    Have you not known?
    Have you not heard?
    The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
    Neither faints nor is weary.
    His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait upon the Lord
    Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.  Isaiah 40: 29-31

Who do you say that I am?

Since I have emphasized so much in my blogs about my reliance in my relationship with Jesus Christ, I think it is important that you know why.  Many say that believing in God is a blind faith.  I would beg to differ. GOD does exist! Whether or not you believe this does not change the fact that HE DOES. If someone really wants to know the TRUTH all they need to do is seek for it. What we believe does not change the fact that God is sovereign and that we will all have to face Him one day. You may not even believe this but it won't change God's mind and He will have the last say.  I am not a scholar nor do I claim to know everything.  In my quest for truth I know that the Bible is the Word of God, that Jesus is the only way to have eternal life and a personal relationship with God.  I am not here to argue with anyone nor debate the issues.  All I want is to present the truth and you decide.  I have found that Jesus loves everyone and He always spoke the truth, even if it was against the grain.   He was crucified because of who He is.  He has given every person a free will to choose what they want to believe.

God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.  John 3:16-17

In the next few weeks I will address to the best of my ability the following:

    1.  Why is Jesus the only way?

    2.  Is the Bible reliable?

    3. How can I have a personal relationship with God?

I would love to get your comments on this and know what you think, so please let me know.

    John

    Just Good Advice

As your circle of friends on this site grows, I suggest that you check out everyone's page before accepting them to be one of your friends.  I have ran into a few that you would not want your children to see!  The goal for my site is to give glory to God so I do allow anyone to my circle of friends as long as they are not dishonoring themselves and others.  My prayer is that I would just reach a few that normally would not go to church or may have never heard the gospel.  If we are going to reach the world with the truth, we can not hide our light under a basket "You are the light of the world.  A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.  Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand and it gives light to all who are in the house.  Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." Mat 5:14-16

Is God for me or against me?

Do you ever wonder if God is for you or against you?  Well in spite of your circumstances I can assure you that He is for you!  In the book of Exodus the Israelites kept ignoring that God was with them.  I say ignore because it was obvious that God was with them the whole time and that He made His presence known.  I bring this up because the enemy (Satin) will do anything to keep us from staying in a relationship with our Lord.  I battle with this all the time and begin to look at my situation rather than delighting in the Lord.  "Delight yourself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart.  Commit your way to the Lord and trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass."  Psalm 37:4-5   When God was angry at the Israelites and wanted to destroy them because they built an idol to worship, Moses reminded God of His promise with them (Ex 32:11-14).  We must remember that God loves us and "Through the Lord's mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not.  They are new every morning, Great is Your faithfulness."  Lam 3:22-23
This morning I was up early and could not go back to sleep.  Didn't feel like praying, worshiping nor reading the Word.  Did a crossword puzzle and a jigsaw puzzle, everything but going to God.  Finally, after much struggling I began reading Exodus (that's where we are in out men's study) and began reading till the end.  God spoke to me throughout the whole book.  I knew God was assuring me of His presence in my life (you wouldn't know it).  I had for a brief time allowed the enemy and my flesh to have the victory.  But praise be to God, He is allways there.  Remember, "Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.  For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Rom 8:37-39   What shall we say to these things?  If God is for us, who can be against us?  Rom 8:31
So what? you may ask.  I know the scripures, I know God loves me, blah, blah, blah...  God is infinitely wise, powerful and good.  We cannot accuse Him of being unfair in His dealing with us.  It was our own sinfulness that has entrapped us and condemned us.  Yet God, out of His infinite mercy, chooses to save us.  We are saved by grace and grace alone "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God" Eph 2:8  "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" Heb 11:1

Hope this helped someone out there.  Have a blessed day!!

    "Praise the Lord"

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your heats and minds through Christ Jesus.  Phil 4:6-7

Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or What shall we wear?'  For after these things the Gentiles seek.  For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.  But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.  Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own thins.  Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.  Matt 6:31-34

In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it be tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love.  Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, recieving the end of your faith-the salvation of your souls.  1 Pet 1:6-9

How can we rejoice when everything seems to be going wrong?  In the Psalms David was depressed or discouraged and continually cried out to the Lord.  Yet allways followed up with praise.  I believe it was because whatever situation he was in, his reliance was on God.  As some of you know, I have been unemployed for about a year now.  I have cried out to the Lord in desperation on several occasions wondering how I will make it another day.  I must confess that it has not been easy at times.  But PRAISE BE TO GOD, He has allways came through for me.  Seems to happen the very last day, minute or second but He has allways supplied my every need.  An odd job, a check in the mail, a gift from a brother or a complete miracle.  Just to let you know, I am not the kind of person that tells everyone my woes.  I go to the Lord in prayer.  He allways answers!  But I must give Him all of the praise.  One recent instance is I was crying out to the Lord not knowing how I was going to pay all of my bills.  When I finised, I had a peace I had not had for a long time and knew it was from the Lord.  Within a couple of days I had over $3,000.  Seems there was an error that went back to the 70s when my dad passed away that the gov't had to pay back.  God has supplied on numerous times what I have needed.

So why do I tell you this?  If there is only one person that reads this and realizes their need for God in their life, this blog has accomplised what it is meant to do.  Stop being so prideful that you don't think you need the Lord in your life.  Even as believers we tend to look everywhere else but to God.  I don't care where your at in your life, God is the source for all we need.  I encourage you to get on your knees and cry out to God.  Search the Word of God.  Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which we have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having excaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.  2 Pet5 1-4

    Who is Barack Obama

This is something that every true believer must watch!  This is one of the scariest speeches I have heard in a long time.  What Obama says here reminded me of the scripture in Matt 24 where Jesus warned us that in the last days "if possible, even the elect (believers) could be deceived".  We must stay in the Word and be aware of what others believe and make sure it is accurate and in line with scripture.  Also, in Revelations we are warned to not compromise the gospel.  This is totally opposite to what Obama is saying about the church.  In 1 Thess 5:19 Paul tells us "Do not quench the Spirit.  Do not despise prophecies.  Test all things; hold fast what is good.  Abstain from every form of evil".  Saying we are a believer and then voting for abortion and siding with gay marriage is in direct contradiction to what the Bible teaches.

My friends, don't take my word for it.  Watch the speech and then compare to the scripture what is said by Obama.  Many references to the bible that he speaks of are taken totally out of context.

In spite of who gets elected, we must allways remember that God puts things together for His time table.  We must continue to trust Him and stand for the truth of the gospel no matter what happens.

You can watch the speech by clicking http://www.citizenlink.org/content/A000007665.cfm  This speech was made a couple of years ago so it is not tainted with what someone else has written for him.  These are truely his beliefs.
